AAE Foundation Toolkit

Tweets, blogs, posts or pokes—what’s the best way to get your members attention? The AAE Foundation is taking advantage of social media to raise awareness, but we are still using a stamp to raise money.

The Foundation solicits donors via US mail three to four times annually. We mail to approximately 1,700 non-donors who are Active members and the same number of current donors with the potential to increase. The combined mailings generate about $25,000 in pledges per solicitation. The Foundation reinforces the letters with e-mail requests to the same groups. We view this activity as support for our fundraising volunteers. The mailings are timed to coincide with phone calls and in-person visits to prospects.

Our campaign runs from one Annual Meeting to the next. The goal is to raise about $1 million each year and over the last decade we have met that target. The Foundation will invest $1.6 million in research and education in 2013. We are the only organization that supports every accredited endodontic program in the United States and Canada.
